Tionna Smalls invades the Book Stands Again!!

TV Personality/Entrepreneur Tionna Smalls is set to release her new book, Men Love Abuse: The Guide to Losing the Image of Being the Nice Girl & Getting the Man You Want! (Talk Dat Ish Books; On-sale: January 27, 2012; 978-0-9830554-0-2; $14.99) from her Pocketbook Series. Smalls is best known as the Relationship Advisor on Vh1's What Chilli Wants (Season 1 and 2) helping pop star Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas find love.

Following up to her successful, award winning book, "Girl, Get Your Mind Right!" (HarperCollins, 2011), Smalls is tackling the issue of nice girls finishing last. "Men Love Abuse" is a honest book helping women become strong when dating a man by telling them not to call too much or to not to take any crap from a man. Smalls philosophy is, "be a bitch and you will get hitched." Men only understand strength, so if you want that guy, you better "abuse" him. Never the one to promote violence, Tionna uses the word "abuse" as a metaphor to treating guys not so nice.

The reader will leave feeling empowered and ready to take on any man they are dating or soon to date. The rules are fun and easy and Smalls breaks down the problems and solutions to any issue that may come up in a "ship" (friendship, courtship, or relationship).

I love this record; something like a rap love song if you will. I guess Wale has charm after all. In the video ( taken place at Envy in Lil Five Points here in Atlanta) Wale along with leading lady Bre, who appeared in Americas Next Top Model mimics a similar scene from the 1990s movie Poetic Justice when Tupac Shakur woos Janet Jackson in the beauty salon that she worked at. I did like the video however the styling/wardrobe needed alot of work. The fact that Bre's "slickback" just looked BASIC there could have been more of a sickening hair du. Wale on the otherhand was looking like some scrumptious chocolate ready to be covered on some strawberries. Anywho if you have not watched the video do not hesitate to press play.

It is about 7:00am I am already tired but hell I have to go to class on a saturday. It is cold as I do not know what outside so I am trying to find something to wear thats trendy as well as to keeping me warm...somewhat. Time to head to the subway and catch that number 6 downtown. It is a breezy Friday night in Manhattan and it is time for me to head to the first event held at H&M. I am not just excited but I am excited...if you catch my drift. I was able to see different faces and nationalities with their looks and styles with awe. Everyone knows that I am an observer so I need to be cautious especially when it comes to someones wardrobe. The H&M event was so kick ass! All the Teen Vogue students and guest who were invited were able to receive 25% off of their purchases and you know I will not turn away a deal like that. I had noticed this redhead chick who was the DJ spinning records and she was playing all the jams from Rick James to Justin Timberlake I should have asked her what her name was.

So I had all the Hor d'erves and drinks that I wanted..Fat I know but shit it was offered why not take it?

People are right....there is a first time for everything. About 2 weeks ago it was my very first time going to New York. I imagined that it would be just how it is like the movies. Everything was so Surreal. As I am on the plane looking over the sky and I see the Brooklyn Bridge I think to myself I finally made it...finally reaching my first New York experience; I want some juniors cheesecake lol. I had to remember that I was there and there for one thing only and that was to be aggressive about being a student for Teen Vogue Fashion University.

I did not attend last year due to funds but this year I had it in me to make sure that I was to go even if I went by myself. (Thank God for college refund checks) I knew New York was expensive but not UBER expensive hotels cost like $200 a night or more had I known that I was going ahead of time it would have been cheaper but I guess this time it did not work in my favor. Due to a mixup I ended up staying in Spanish Harlem in which I found a very interesting area. Everywhere you went someone was not speaking english.

Just wanted to give 20 seconds of fame so please pay attention to this introduction. I met a young lady by the name of Miya, a Detroit native, who were in the process of recieving a position as nail tech at GlamBar Salon here in Atlanta. So how did I find out about her? Well Sabrina, the owner, stated on twitter that they needed a nail model so of course I am going to respond in a quickness since I was planning on getting them done the next day anyhow. I got to know her and her ethics. I still not have found one nail tech that I can permanently go to but now I feel that I have now. This is what the results of having intricate work looks like....

Greetings Earthlings and Fashionistas!

I felt like I should share this information with you all, well some of you. I noticed how 75% of the society does not know how to create different styles with one outfit; I tend to do this all the time. I figured why not teach the illiterate...once again. I only did two examples so watch closely....

This here ladies and gentlemen, is a vintage romper purchased from Clothing Warehouse in lil 5 points here in Atlanta. The look I put together is a day look for the work enviornment or even for a cute day gathering in the park. Noticed how I gathered dressy accessories to create the ensamble alive.

Sidenote: If you ladies decide to wear platform pumps wear ankle socks to go for a couture look...I would definitely wear purple socks to go with the color theory.

I am revealing another secret of where I shop so pay close attention. As most of you know one of my favorite styles is vintage..with that being said vintage clothing is not hard to find at at all whether if it is at a thrift store, an expensive vintage shop, or even your grandparent's closet; take a peek into the reality of Sherane's Vintage Closet.

A while back this wonderful young lady by the name of Sherane Heron followed me on twitter and I noticed she were promoting a sale for her store in which I have never heard whether by word or mouth or what not. I visited her site and seen so many items that I wanted. The week after I finally took a visit with my fellow fashion majors as I racked up during her $7 and $10 sale. In total I bought 6 items which came up to $50..not bad. As far as it goes the service is great and you can sip wine while you shop which was my favorite part (laugh out loud). Clark Atlanta University Presents...Bryant Park meets CAU Fashion Show

April 29th 2010 was the 22nd Annual Clark Atlanta University Spring Fashion Show, Bryant Park Meets CAU. The gym were set up like Bryant Park with the tent and red carpet to come along with. We wanted the audience to feel as if they were in New York Fashion Week and that is just exactly what we have done. There were Designer appearances on the runway by Nathaniel Keith, Jermeisha Leech, Joellee Wilson, Alexandria Taylor, Emanise Gilles, Ashley Caldwell, many more as well as wardrobe from Francesca, Shopchosengirl Boutique, Dillards, etc.

Shoutout to my new found buddies Robot N Brucling......two designers based out of New York who created their own brand of fashion accessories worn by many celebrities as well as being featured in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week. The fashion show went better than I expected although I will NEVER work with most of these people again. I did expect for certain things to happen obviously it is always chaotic the day of a show. I must say that I am happy for taking the position of being assistant director of the show. This is not going to be the last of me though....I have some things up my sleeve.

Derek Blanks Photoshoot Project

We had a project assigned for my wardrobe styling class and it was to work with Derek Blanks and his photographers. (sidenote: If you do not know who Derek Blanks is...please commite suicide right now) I was pretty excited since that is one of my favorite photographers. Their were five groups and each group was assigned a fashion capital a model from Ethnicity Models Management, and a photgrapher. My group had Los Angeles. Our concept consist of having our model, Miss Nefertiti, shop in a plaza and is stalked by poparazzi. Then another concept was to make her look like she is out of Guess Ad.

so...days later....finals week comes along....D.Blanks comes to our class and gives evaluations to each concept and outfit....and he said the words that I wanted to hear.

This is the best styling I have seen out of all the pictures...HANDS DOWN!

First there was Project X..then comes the [Next] Project...3 years later Emergence 2 Serve comes into existence. Ladies and Gentlemen here we have a group of indiviudals who were willing to keep our legacy alive. When I first joined Project Next I treated the name like it was my child. When we threw our last homecoming fashion show last year in 2010 it brought me to tears. Time to pass the torch.....

The show overall made me proud although I was not to fully satisfied with certain things. There were a scene dedicated to us with only models who have worked with us in past fashion shows we have done. It was like a reunion. We have done all of the behind the scenes now it was our turn to sit in front row to watch the show.

I want to thank those for their hard work and dedication. Not everyone has the patience to plan fashion shows especially those who are level minded. Keep me proud til due time...DO NOT FUCK UP THE LEGACY.

A and L clothing Co. held a fashion show this past Saturday at Primal Night Club. I did like the fashions but I did not like the fashion show itself. My biggest pet peeve is when fashion shows do not begin on time; I would maybe except a five minute late grace period. When your show is suppose to promply start at 7pm but does not start til 8:20pm I see a problem with that. What made it so bad is that it was only ten minutes. What the hell? So you mean to tell me I showed up on time, then it started a hour and some minutes late and the show is literally ten minutes? Never again. [UNIMPRESSED]

I am working on another project which as most of you know it is one of my specialities. This fashion show is for the Fashion Program for my school, Clark Atlanta University. I am the Assistant Fashion Show Director for the show so I have been ripping and running doing all I can to promote as well as to making this show worth while. Our theme is Bryant Park. WE came up with that because that is one of the locations where New York Fashion Week is held so we decided to bring it to Atlanta. Do your research I promise you all will learn more.

It is about one in the afternoon with a 76 degree sunny day. Piedmont Park was the perfect location to do just anything: ride a bike, picnic in the park, jog, etc. What is one of the things that I do best? Styling. The concept of the shoot was to do something similar to Rihanna's video Only Girl in the World where as to the world being so dead and BLAH. The two outfits composed of different looks which of course opposed two different types of scenery for the shoot. We had our lovely petite model, Miss Patrice, wearing an off white boostie, two toned gathered seam skirt with white hoisery and combat boots for one outfit. The other outfit consisted with multi colors such as purple, yellow, and salmon pink.

Shit. I forgot to introduce someone who made this happen...Ladies and Gents, Pimps and Hoes, allow me to introduce Dejon Kemper...The Photographer.

I met this wonderful person from the last Project Next show that I worked with. This Augusta native has told me all his wondrous goals in life. After watching the video my level of respect for her has risen as high as the sky. The concept of the video is a true story about a good friend of hers who committed suicide because NO ONE would accept the fact that he was homosexual. I do have this song on repeat and I do get teary eyed everytime I watch the video because all of this shit is real. Even if you do not accept homosexuality at least give respect in consideration. Everyone knows there is a fee when it comes to participating such a highly event sooooooo there will be a fundraising event come February 3rd and it will take place at iLounge located at 1287 D Glenwood Avenue Atlanta, GA 30316. The event will begin at 7:30pm following the after party which will take place at 10pm. Salutations to my beautiful fashionistas all over the world! My friends and I took an adventure to the WeDoFashion Divorce Party in which took place at the Aurum Lounge Downtown Atlanta. I met a few people but for some reason I did not socialize as much like I usually do. Who knows maybe I was on E that night; ok not the drug I meant as in gas for all you close minded people. There were fashion DOS then there were also fashion WHAT THE FUCK WAS I THINKING WHEN I PUT THIS OUTFIT ON so of course being the "mean girl" that I am the stare and analyzing technique comes into effect. I like it when people stare and anaylze me....well maybe a little. Anyway I would like to send my best wishes to the crew after this amazing divorce and now that the papers have been signed I now call you The Audacity.

"Scandelous" Kesh Monroe & Chef Green

Here I am on the set of my big sister/mentor's Kesh Monroe video shoot for "Scandelous" featuring Chef Green. A few of the ideas for the video came from the movie Waist Deep with one scene with Kimora Lee playing a booster selling high end clothing to Tyrese and Meagan Good. The concept of the video was to be taking place at a Taco Party in the hills of California (Tacos were BOMB.COM by the way). Being the black person that I am of course I had as many tacos as I wanted with lots of meat and cheese but I forgot to get the damn sour cream! [ok back to subject] The video will be released soon date is to be announced. Kesh I do not think the kids are ready for this one!

So let me tell you I had a ball for New Years Eve; first time I did something so extravagant. Before I go into detail this is what I wore to the event. (pic down below)

Everyone knows that I am a HUGE Asos fanatic so of course that is where my dress comes into place. Olive color Jersey Knit Mesh Dress with gathered inseams. Price $65.71 My shoes...TOO DIE FOR...came from HeelsandHers shoe line located at my homie's boutique Vitesse Exchange here in Atlanta. Price: $64.00 My Cocktail ring was just one accessory that I purchased to go with the outfit. It came from my other homie Kesh Monroe of Dymond Wayz which is an accessories boutique here in Atlanta. I attended the Professional Relaxation located at The Biltmore downtown Atlanta. It was not cold that night which I was praying that it would not be. The event itself consisted of three ballrooms and all three were poppin! However I am upset that i stayed in line for almost thirty gotdamn minutes just to get a damn Cosmo. Bartenders please step ya cookies up next year! Once you upset an alcoholic they remember your face with vengance.

Another talented legend has left us with a gift to remember her by..Miss Teena Marie. I grew up listening to her songs on my parents radio from Fire & Desire to Square Biz, lovergirl etc. I find it hard to believe that she has left the Earth so now I need to face the reality that very soon that the music we have left will leave with nothing to spare. Atlanta Fashion Awards 2010

The awards did not go as planned but it was a good experience for me. I am happy that I was nominated for something huge sitting around with A list socialites and such. The beautiful Tameka Raymond was the host of the evening. Everyone looked very nice and most of the outfits were extrodinary. Once again congrats to everyone who won their categories! Design Firm Project

Here we have my class, Apparel Construction, present our final projects. The final project consist of designing a dress and an outfit in a group coming up with asthetics to what our fashion line consists of, who we are targeting, and presenting it in powerpoint. I thought that it would be good to expose this because A LOT of people do not know that Clark Atlanta University has a fashion program and yes we do have alot of talented designers. I feel that we do not get enough recognition and that needs to change.

CFDA Presents.....Innovative Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act

In August of this year the Council of Fashion Designers of America recently passed a bill through congress. This bill known as the Innovative Design Protection and Piracy Prevention Act or IDPPA, giving protection to the new and original creativity. Now they are stopping any type of "Knock Off artist" who replicate the designs as well as gaining profit from another persons work. I find this interesting like there was a situation a long time ago about Forever 21 stealing Diane Von Furstenburg's design...Same dress...same design...different price so civil action were taken place but I am not sure of the aftermath. Then there was Nike VS Louis Vuitton....Christian Louboutin vs...well hell everyone because everybody wants to rock a red bottom.

I love ART NOUVEAU! There is so much creativity behind the name....it says it all. Coming up is an event that has been put together known as the Tabloid...A night of fashion,art, and music all in one. It will take place this Thursday December 2nd at the Spring 4th Center here in Atlanta. There will be live performances from the beautiful Miranda Nicole, Muffy, A-Ware, and the Beat Geeks as well as a live fashion show with designs by Tisa Vision, Youthearykhmer, Kae Couture, and many more. Doors open at 8pm. Showtime begins at 9pm. Admission at the door is $12 however there are advance tickets for $10 so get them while they are hot! This is something no one should stay home from!

Introducing Miss Fhonia Ellis, a fashion designer hauling from Louisville, Kentucky. I discovered this sista on facebook, of course we are mutual friends (laugh out loud). I find her designs very unique as if the garments were speaking their own language; something of an ego. At 25 she has encountered her talent earning a spot within the fashion industry. Many celebrities such as Diamond from Crime Mob, Trina, Dondria, etc. have worn her pieces. I could actually relate to her for the simple fact that she treats fashion of something in the nature of art and I respect that to the fullest. I was the BIGGEST Spice Girls Fanatic when I was youunger! I had all the CD's. videos, even the candy with each of the girl's faces on it. So one of my favorite songs off of their self titled album Spice Girls was Naked. I was too young to know what was going on in the song I just knew that I liked it along and it was always on repeat. Even when they performed the song in concert they killed the stage sitting behind the chairs with no clothes on...absolute fucking classic!
